Birth and Postpartum Doula Care

Birth is powerful. It’s transformative, deeply personal, and deserves to be supported with care, respect and most of all trust.

I am a Melbourne-based birth and postpartum doula, passionate about supporting women and families throughout the exciting times pregnancy, birth, and postpartum provides us. I believe in the power and strength of the female body and its ability to birth.

My role is to walk alongside you- providing emotional, physical, and informative support throughout your birthing journey.

Every family’s experience is unique. Whether you’re planning a hospital birth or home birth, I’m here to support your choices and help create a positive and empowering birth experience.

I also recognise that while birth can be incredibly empowering, the postpartum period can be overlooked. My intention is to help you carry that sense of strength and confidence from your birth into those early days - so you feel supported, capable, and not alone as you navigate this new chapter.

About Abby

Hi, I’m Abby, originally from the United States, I moved to Australia in 2018 and have spent the last eight years between Australia and New Zealand. I am now based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne with my partner and two children.

I completed my doula training with Rhea Dempsey in December 2025. My passion for this work is deeply personal. I’ve experienced two beautiful home births myself - each one reinforcing my belief in the innate strength and capability of the female body. Those experiences shaped not only how I view birth but how I support women as they move through their own individual journeys.

Before becoming a doula I spent years as a high-level athlete. That background has given me a deep respect for the body - its resilience, it’s intelligence, and its ability to perform and transform under the right conditions. I bring that same trust into my work with birth; that with the right support, environment, and preparation, the body knows that to do.

I have found a true passion in this work and find myself incredibly lucky to be invited to share in these experiences with such wonderful women and families.
